What was the biggest take-way from the challenge for you?
Realizing that I was taking in too much fat and way too little protein in my day. I was also eating too little throughout the course of the day, managing the food intake has really changed things for me. Also, keeping me on track during the weekends. We still go out to eat once during the weekend, but I plan for it and either look at menus ahead of time or try to make good decisions on the fly like subbing out fries for steamed veggies or fried chicken for grilled chicken.
It's changed the way I look at food. I know how certain foods make me feel, how it feels when I go on a little binge, or if I don't get enough protein. It's motivating to keep going because you truly feel better when the numbers align.
What would you say to someone thinking about doing the challenge?
In the last few years I have put on about 10 pounds and couldn't get it off, despite an active job and going to the gym 5 days per week.
This challenge is the first thing that has really worked for me, without feeling like I was starving myself or depriving myself of all the good things in life! You just have to prioritize.
